The MIA has returned!!
What a week! Ok, let's catch up........
Dad came home on Monday night. He's doing much better!! Mom has had to take him to the outpatient for IV iron and calcuim each day, but overall he's recovering well. Still tired and a bit weak, but at least his levels are under control. For the most part! Change in meds/diet and now they're just watching him very closely. At least he's home.
I've been home with the little one all week, and most likely will be home with her again tomorrow. She's got a horriable virus that's had her on her ass since Sunday. She's got a fever that just won't go away!! Jerkmo is off today, so she's home with him. Momma NEEDED to get out into the outside world for a little bit. Being cooped up inside since Sunday had me going mental by 7 last night. Can I just mention that my house is a-gleaming from all the scrubbing I've been doing.....out of bordom! Aside from the fact that I don't get paid if I'm not here, so if I could come in to get a couple bucks yadda yadda. Wait until the boss hears that I won't be here tomorrow!! Oh well. Ask me if I care?
OH!!!!! Remember that job in the lab I applied for way back when??? THEY CALLED ME ON FRIDAY FOR AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't had a chance to call back just yet, but I'm not letting that one go. Hopefully all will work out, but I'll keep you all posted.
Well gotta fly. I've got so much to catch up on here. I guess it's just too much for anyone else to pick up the slack when I'm gone. I think I'll keep that in mind when the other girl goes on vacation at the end of March.

Thank You, Thank You!!
Daddy's in Intensive Care, but he's stable. I got a call around 4:30 that his levels had gone up even more, so mom had to rush him to the hospital to be admitted. They found out that one of the blood pressure meds that he's on has extra potassium in it. Well, they also found out that his kidneys are only functioning at 50% now, so his body is unable to get rid of the excess on it's own. They started giving him medicine to counter act the potassium. By 10:30 last night the levels had started to come down a bit. THANK GOD!! If they hadn't he would have had to have a round of dyalisis, and he's just not strong enough to handle something like that. We're all so thankful. He'll be in there another couple days, at least, just so they can get him stable and under control. We're not out of the woods just yet, but at least it's getting a little more under control.
I am so emotionally drained today. When my mom called to say she had to take him to the hospital I asked to talk to him. I broke down crying and told him how much I loved him. He started crying too, and said how much he loved me and not to worry. I told him not to let anything happen to him because I couldn't handle if something like that happened. He said not to worry. I WORRIED! You just never know. The idea that my parents would live forever is obviously gone now that I'm older. When your young you just think they will always be around. Then you grow up and reality hits you where it hurts. Right in the heart. Reality is a bitch!!!!
OH.......When my parents went back to the doctor to get his blood drawn my mom said something to them about that 'next of kin bitch' nurse. I'm glad. You can't call someone and use that phrase and think it's ok. I guess they were very suprised at her choice of words too. YA THINK???!!!! So this morning my sister is at the hospital to hang and see what doctors she can catch. Being a doctor herself she's always our go to source for all the info. So I tried calling over there to talk to my dad and the bitch that answered the phone was all like "Oh, he's gone for a procedure" all crotchity. I was like "What procedure? This is his daughter" She cuts me off and goes into the whole "I can't discuss anything with you!" OH NO SHE DIDN'T!!! So I cut her off and said "Fine! I'll just have my mother call." and hung up on her. Called my mom, she called, he went down for an ultrasound and my sister went with him. She kindly informed the nurse that both her daughters are in the medical field and 'procedure' to them (us) DOES NOT mean ultrasound. That's a f'n TEST!!! DUH!!!!!!! The nurse agreed. Now, I get the whole privacy shit, and no info over the phone bullshit, but DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO RUDE???? WTF is with people lately????!!!!! Oh well, I'm over it. B*tch! LOL
So that's the skinny kiddies. Thanks again for all the love. It means SO much!! Love you guys!

Need some prayers
My dad has been going down hill for several years now. He had a quad bi-pass in 2000, and has been going downhill with Alzshimers, rapidly, for the last couple years too. He used to be so vibrant and active. VERY independant. Now he relies on my poor mom for everything. Everything.
It's been a hard road for all of us. He's just not the same daddy I used to know. It breaks my heart. We've all done what we need to do to adjust, and cry to eachother when we need to. We manage. We all feel blessed that he's stayed with us this long.
My dad hasn't been feeling well for a little over a week not. Everthing in his body has been hurting him. It's his arthritis. He accepted that answer for the last week, but on Tuesday insisted that my mom take him to the doctor. We figured maybe hearing it from the doctor would make him not worry about it so much. It was his arthritis. They drew some labs, just to be sure, and because he hasn't had a round of bloodwork done in a bit, so why not. We have to be soooooo careful with him because even the slightest cold will land him in the hospital. He's just that fragile.
I got a call this morning that went something like this......
"Hello is this Hyman" (you all know she didn't really call me that)
"Yes it is"
"Hello Hyman this is so-and-so from Dr. Meyer's office"
"Yeah"
"Hyman, you're listed as next of kin for your parents"
**gripping my desk** "What's wrong!!"
"Well, Hyman, we despiratly need to get a hold of your dad because he's had some critical lab results come back, and we need to get him back here right away."
Ok, so can I just say for the record DON'T EVER CALL SOMEONE AND USE THE NEXT OF KIN PHRASE IF SOMEONE ISN'T FUCKING DEAD!!!!! Totally uncool! I thought I was going to pass out for a second there.....bitch!!
So my parents are/were at my sisters house and left to go back for more blood work. Apparently my dad's potassium was WAY too high and they were worried is heart would start going all goofy and irregular. JUST WHAT HE NEEDS!!! So they drew more blood and sent it out STAT. We should have the results in about 4 hours or so. If it's still high they'll give him something to make him poop it all out and then draw another set in a couple days. If it went down then they'll just check again in another week or so.
**BIG SIGH** So if everyone could just say a little prayer for my daddy that all turns out ok, and that this isn't the start of something bad I'll love you all even more than I already do!
OH, and add SuperChicks puppy in there too. Come home Zoey!!

Just another day

So, it's Saturday, and I'm working. Well, at least my body is at my work. Usually Saturdays don't bother me much. I'm here by myself, it's usually dead, and I have lots of time to catch up on work from the crazy week. I'm just not in the mood for it today. I'm just kinda blah.
Didn't do SPF yesterday. I was too lazy. The topic was "free". I was going to take a picture of Jerkmo's closet and say that when this closet was full of MY stuff instead of his that would be 'free' to me. It's been a rocky couple of days; to say the least. I'm not going to bore you with the details, but just know that I'm OK and have plans, now more than ever, to move forward.
The little one is with her dad this weekend, and I miss her so much already. No matter what's got me down just her being around makes it all ok. Maybe it's better that I have some time to myself. Maybe it's better to just feel whatever you need to instead of having to put on a happy face.
Not much planned for this weekend. We got pelted with a couple more inches of snow last night, and all I feel like doing is staying all cozy inside with my puppies. The house needs a good cleaning. My brother in law owns a painting/decorating company and yesterday he had some of his guys over to to a bunch of odds and ends for me. NO CHARGE!!! The house looks awesome. I'm soooo happy, and was so excited to go home last night and see it. They repainted the entire downstairs ceiling, hung a new light over my kitchen table, repainted all the trim, patched wall/repainted, hung a new fan in the little ones room, fixed her bathroom sink, and put in a new faucet in the kitchen. WHEW that was a long list. The place looks awesome; I'm so happy!!
Not much other than that, kiddies. Hope everyone has a great weekend, and stay warm!!

(she insisted that she wanted me to make them for her instead of buying them) They turned out soooo cute! **pat on back** Not a darn thing else good to say. Sorry to be such a party pooper.Hope everyone has a wonderful, loving, happy day!!

8-12'......Bring it on, baby!!!!!!
In other news....My daughter is the cutest damn thing sometimes. This morning I was ironing my pants, and she asked if she could iron too. "No, baby mommy needs to iron my pants, but thanks anyways" So then she asks if she can iron 'blankie'. Now, 'blankie' is the baby blanket that I brought her home from the hospital in. It's the most adorable blanket with fluffy, pastel colored teddy bears on it that I got from JCPennys. I had like the entire collection; just adorable. So, I said no prob. She goes upstairs to get 'him' (don't ask me how blankie became a boy, but whatever) So I'm standing there ironing away, and she's standing next to me with 'blankie' all smushed up against her cheek rocking back and forth. "He's a little nervous." "Well how come? You've ironed 'blankie' before." "I know, so I just told him it's kinda like getting a shot. It's just a little scary because you haven't had it happen for awhile, but soon he'll know there's nothing to it." When she was ironing she was humming to herself and asking 'blankie' if the warm heat felt good on such a cold day. Too cute!!! So in the end 'blankie' and my pants look fab-o!!
I watched 'The Exercism of Emily Rose' last night. HOLY SHIT!!! Now I'm a scary movie whore to begin with, but the scary movies that are based on true stories freak the hell out of me. If you haven't seen this movie GO RENT IT or something. It's so worth it. It had just enough scary shit in it to freak you out!! Of course I cried. Poor girl. I am a firm believer that there are deamons walking among us, shit I think I might have even dated a few LOL, but this movie really makes you think. At the end, on her grave site, was the phrase "Seek your salvation with fear and trembeling"....or something close to that. It made me burst out crying (I think I really just need to get my period), but the point that it drove home for me was that thru fear, and beyond, is happiness. Some advise that I need to take home with me. I need to stop being so afraid of certain things/people and walk thru it with the faith that all will be happier on the other side of that fear. Fear is nothing more than evil trying to hold you back from happiness, and I don't want to be afraid anymore.

I know I'm a geek, but still.....

SPF

So this week Kristine and SuperChick gave us an SPF assignment. Kristine's was something red and SuperChick said to capture something that means something to you. I've captured both here. This is a Build-a-Bear the little one made for me a couple mother's days ago, and the RED heart she made to go with it. The best of both worlds!!!
Did you play?

Monday ramble

Ok, so I'm not going to talk about how it was 9 below when I woke up this morning, and I'm not going to mention that it's suppose to get to -35 with the windchill tonight. I'm also not going to talk about the F'n Bears from last night. I don't really have much to say about that except WHAT AN OPENING KICK!!!! After that? not much good to say.
The little one's party went well. I felt like it was shit, but my mom says that's because everything was so rushed. The little one had Science Olympics in the morning, so I had to rush her there and rush home to start baking cup cakes. Funny story....so I'm in super rush mode because, of course, I wanted to get so much more done with little time. So I go to open the dumbass package of cake mix and POOF it splits in two and a good chunk of it goes all over the counter, stove, me and the floor. I just stood there for a minute thinking "I so don't have time for this!" So, I grabbed the bowl and shovled what was on the counter into the bowl and continued baking. My mom thought it was a riot when I told her.
People came and then had to leave early for other shit, so it was all rush rush rush. Even her kid party later was all rush because she invited one little boy and, of course, he wasn't sleeping over, so we had to rush rush to get all that done before he left. Then the little girls were left to keep my ass awake until after 1 AM!!! She was bickering with a little girl from her old school THE WHOLE TIME!!! Good lord ladies, you're only 10 what is the big issue???!!! Apparently her friend planned the little ones sleepover all on her own and when the little one and the other girls didn't want to do everything the one girl thought they should do the tears started a flowin'. LORD HELP ME. Yesterday morning I had to step in when her friend was SCREAMING at the little one. I don't think so sweety. I'm the only one who gets to scream in my house. Long story short the little one never wants to talk to her again blah blah "She ruined my party and embarressed me in front of my friends" blah blah. Oh the drama. I will amit she was a bit of a snot.
Anyways I took a couple of naps yesterday, cleaned, started making the thank you cards, and sucked a couple helium baloons down with the little one singing like the chipmunks. It was fun. She was off to bed early because at about 3 she became the winey, crying, tired mess I knew she would turn into. Hey, that's what you get for going to bed at 1am and waking up b4 7! Even I can't be miss sunshine anymore on that little of sleep. Truth be told I'm still tired today. Damn, I hate getting old. Long gone are the days of being able to function on 3 hours of sleep.....regularly. Oh well.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Anything exciting?
